Burning Roots (Ancestors V - 04/2025)

"Burning Roots" is a visual exploration of the pain present in different stages of life, where fertile emptiness and the natural stages of existence intertwine, with memory playing a decisive role. Through this work, I seek to express a profound yearning for liberation without resorting to literal interpretation.

The work reflects the duality of suffering and the search for freedom, allowing the viewer to feel the weight of the experience while persevering toward the hope of healing. Roots, as a symbol of connection, represent the complexity of our memories and emotions, evoking a space where pain and renunciation confront each other.

Using charcoal, my lines are dynamic and chaotic, revealing the tension inherent in the creative process. This use of materiality emphasizes the oppression of pain and the struggle to break free from its bonds, generating a visual dialogue that invites reflection. The artwork evokes diverse emotions in the viewer, where each stroke invites a unique interpretation and fosters a personal connection with the piece.

By interacting with the images, the public can confront their own emptiness and loss, creating a space for empathy and self-exploration. "Burning Roots" seeks to generate a dialogue about pain and the search for freedom. In each stroke, there is an invitation to evolution and the possibility of new beginnings, reflecting how art can be a means to confront and transform suffering into a meaningful experience.

Burning Roots

In the whisper of time,

where pain entwines in roots,

echoes of memories are born,

a fertile void that shelters the soul.

Under the shadow of lost stages,

suffering dances with freedom,

like a wounded bird yearning for the sky,

in its flight, hope is reborn.

The roots, in their deep embrace,

weave stories of hidden emotions,

with each stroke, the charcoal speaks,

a chaotic canvas, a silent cry.

Here, pain becomes art,

a dialogue between shadows and light,

where the viewer finds themselves,

in each line, a reflection, a mirror.

And by looking inward,

we confront our own emptiness,

opening doors to empathy,

toward healing, toward a new beginning.

Thus, in "Burning Roots",

art becomes a shining beacon,

a journey of transformation,

where suffering rises into beauty
