Emptiness (Ancestors 2023 - 03/2023)

Artist Books

The void stores the energy of all forms, which is why I seek the path of origin by inhabiting it through handmade paper, nature, the plot and the trace.

In Western culture, emptiness is equated with absence, lack.

In my work I take the void as an inexhaustible space of creation.

The energy of opposites arises: intensity, subtlety, light, shadow, dynamic, temporal nature.

Being aware of emptiness as a principle of nature, yin and yang follow one another.

“Reach complete emptiness.

Maintain a firm stillness.

All things arise from emptiness and return to it.

All things grow and flourish, to return to their roots.

This return to its roots is called stillness.”

Experiences (Ancestors II - 03/2022)

Experiences I - Artist book

Senses, tactile transformations, nature, textures, leaves, handmade paper protecting between each of its pages, its knots (quipus) as if wanting to store words and feelings there (container of achievements)

Experiences II - Bowl

Creativity, transformation. Nature that mobilizes visual and tactile realizations. Leaves, fibers, collage, bundle of threads and knots, knots symbol of closed connection, net, loop, ligature.

I feel that in those ties, in those ligatures, love and knowledge are stored. That knowledge is love that moves me deeply to tears.

Teaching Container.
