Slowly (Art in the Origin - 2019 / Nueva Darsena Group Fellowship - 2019)

Slowly
if ever so
I look for what I think I know
Slowly if ever so
In front of earths delights
Knowing I don’t please, I just never might
My head rests on a table, a tree
And wonders about them and me
A kind word, a gentle hand
a story about another land
slowly if ever so
I look for what I think I know
Stomach full I try to sleep
True to what I think I keep
I think I know
I think I know
Are they paths of thought
that lead the way
Along a stream or through the day?
Do they scream and shout or make less noise
depending on the day or poise?
I think I know,
They are me
Resting on that bench and tree.
