Special Visits (Traces- 06/2021)

It was very hot that day, the sun was very strong in the early hours of the afternoon, I headed to the barbecue area, there was a lot of silence. Great was my surprise when I saw a beautiful hummingbird perched on an old bronze heater. I opened the window and the doors so that he could get out, but my attempts were in vain, since he had no intention of doing so. I couldn't get over my astonishment at the attitude of the beautiful bird, and, in a hurry, I looked for my cell phone to take photographs of it, which I was able to do calmly, since it was flying to two equidistant points, one of them located near a great circular work of my authorship. I placed myself close to it, almost within reach of my hands, and what disconcerted me most was that it did not perform the characteristic flapping of its wings, it only moved from one side to the other after spending a few minutes in each one. Thus he remained a considerable time, until he looked towards the door and raised his retreat.

Two days had passed, when I found a hummingbird on the floor of the barbecue gallery, I took it in my hands, and, in a small lid, I made it drink water, I released it, it perched on my husband's shoulder where it remained several minutes and, as in the previous case, it did not move its wings either. I felt fragile and helpless, and I was afraid of hurting him. I placed him on a kumquat plant so he could start on his way, which he did in a few minutes.

These episodes moved me intensely, in both cases, the behaviour of these hummingbirds was unusual, the images passed through my mind over and over again. I remembered that days ago, I had made a special request to a blue-eyed Angel that I have in heaven, a dream, something that would allow me to feel close and remember him with pleasure. Emotion filled my heart, I felt the spiritual contact of his message, and peace flooded my soul.

Since then, every morning, while I have breakfast, I look at the garden behind the glass windows, waiting for the hummingbird to land on the flowered bignonia.
