Cristina Martinelli

Until she was 15 years old, she lived in the city of Lujan. Dirt streets, trees and the river were the usual setting for her games. Today as then, nature is essential material for her creations. Likewise, in her work she cites human nature, the one that sets forests on fire, the one that she does not want to see.

Since the 1990s, she has participated in group and solo shows. In Buenos Aires: Mundo Nuevo Gallery, Buenos Aires Legislature, ICANA "Conjuro claridad", C.C Borges, Areatec Biennial 2nd Mention "Sustainable Energy", SNAV selected in Drawing, Pallet of life. Sarmiento Univ. “Transformed Landscapes”, Lidaura Spire of S. Martín de Los Andes “Ecological Restoration”, Provincial Museum of Fine Arts of Gral. Roca and Santa Rosa La Pampa. She has worked in the direction of her cultural space in Haedo "El Garage" without abandoning her teaching work for more than 40 years.

Dropsical eyes (Traces - 03/2023)

What captures our gaze. What is it that we cannot stop looking at? The different?

What seems to leave us out, does it scare us? Does it question us? Does it put us on alert? Does it confuse us? or, paradoxically, it reassures us.

It reassures breaking down barriers, on the parameters of human behavior.

Dropsical eyes I think

that my eyes should be;

for when drinking is death,

they drink more, and luckily,

seeing that seeing kills me,

I'm dying to see-
