Xus - Maria Jesus Mas Vidal

She lives and works in Mallorca. Teacher and graduate in Philosophy. She has been a teacher during her professional stage.

She is always interested in the body-mind and the world of art. She understands art as learning, as an awakening of consciences, as a means to move thought, to open minds and, ultimately, to build a better world. Also as a vital principle, as a human need.

Since 1976, she trained at the Palma School of Arts and Crafts, and took ten more years of training at the Molino d'en Xina humanities classroom.

She forms the 3mart group, with which for about two years they carry out various pictorial interventions, research, social gatherings, exhibitions, etc.

Both throughout the individual exhibitions such as "Alè", "Cruïlles al vol", "Redescobrint en la memòria", "He fet riure la Lluma" "Blanc + Blanc = 1 ", " Esquelets d'espines ", as in more than a dozen collectives, the "being" is always present as the protagonist.

In November 2020, she obtained the second prize for Painting in the V AskatasunArte International Art Contest "Semos Refugio".

Des ... arrelant (Traces - 04/2021)

In this process, its journey (that of the bumblebee), the connection with nature, new encounters, roots and a new refuge have made possible the appearance of eternal truths that have been uprooting the soul from the void and rooting the void to the soul.

Removing old roots so that new ones can bear better fruit, creating a new void, a den where darkness is filled with light.

We will continue to grow, even if the climb is more complicated, rising despite leaning, from time to time, the penalties overcome.

"Thus, an immensity of peace,

an invitation to reflection,

an opportunity to boost

the tasting of yourself,

to stand in front of the mirror

of humanism and to thank.

Be grateful to climb the step,

the one that costs us,

what will make us find

with the inner self.

And when you look at yourself

when you see yourself,

that the perceived is real.

Let go of what you see

that you do not like.

Courage... "

“A tasting of yourself”, translation of a fragment of the poem nº13 “Una cata de tu mateixa” of DES ... ARRELANT
