Mimi Godoy

Visual artist and psychoanalyst. Born in Argentina and currently residing in Spain.

She has attended several painting workshops.

Her works, for the most part, are closely related to nature, especially the plant world, always presenting her commitment to environmental care.

She participated in the solo exhibition "El Otro Árbol" (The Other Tree) and several group exhibitions in Argentina and Spain.

Her starting point was trees, most of them non-figurative, using oil on canvas as a medium. Today, she explores diverse paths of artistic expression.

Most recently, she participated in the NAT Art Residence (June 2025) in Cantabria, Spain.

Since she participated in the SM Pro Art Circle´s Traces Seminar (June 2023), she ventured into textiles, an area in which she values materials, both familiar and under development, considering them to have immense potential for art. Along these lines, she conducted workshops on printing with plant techniques and eco-painting.

Selected for the Salerno Biennial (Italy) in October 2025.

Journey to the Interior   (NAT Art Residence - 06/2025)

Encounter Event Loneliness

Intense intimacy

Crossing times and images

Connection

Tears

I am alive and here

Figures that are disfigured

Lights and shadows that surprise me

Suddenly...total darkness

I feel and breathe deeply

I am part of this that surrounds me...and more

A past present

Earth, Water, Air, Fire

That footprint in the sand erased by the sea, will not disappear if it´s remembered...

Experience

Leave traces

Remember

And keep walking...

A Pearl in the Forest (Traces - 06/2023)

My usual company... the trees, I could look at them carefully or close my eyes to feel the freshness of their leaves as well as the roughness of their trunks.

Suddenly something new emerged as a protagonist: the root, the roots... I continued to be surprised by the appearance of that was hidden, unseen or ignored.

The roots asked me to dialogue….

The possibilities of light and color gave me exquisite images of what was not in sight. Disfiguring and coloring are just some of the ways to approach what is revealed.

Still taken by the spell, I discover the infinite and wonderful of creation and art.

…unique memories…strands of life…words…a pearl… …weave…text…light…color…desire…

A memory can be a precious finding.

A tapestry can cover me if I'm cold.

What is not seen

It all depends on the color of the glass you look at it with.

Each root is unique, my traces too
