Jessica DeMuro

Jessica DeMuro sees art in everyday life. There's simply no escaping it in her eyes.

As a multidisciplinary artist living and working in Detroit, photography often sits at the core of her work. She weaves that medium through installations, collages, and mixed media compositions creating layered and in depth examinations of her ideas and concepts.

DeMuro exhibits both internationally and throughout the United States.

She’s received several awards, recognitions, and grants for her contemporary work, and has earned varying degrees in both writing and the visual arts, bringing the depth and crossover of those disciplines into her creative process.

She attended Michigan State University for her bachelors degree in Journalism and later moved to Chicago to further study photography. She then moved to Los Angeles to earn her Masters in Fine Art Photography.

Currently, her studio is located inside the Fisher Building in the New Center district of Detroit.

Observing the Invisible: moments in morning (Traces - 04/2021)

I do not ask you to know the visual of what you hear, but rather feel it, absorb it,

and allow it to fill you up and take your mind and body there.
