Alejandra Saravia

Alejandra Saravia

I was born in Córdoba, Argentina, in 1957. I am an Architect. Since 1986 I have been studying painting in different workshops, the last are Guillermo Roux's and Alejandra Roux's.

I have participated in contests and group and solo shows.

I went through different stages. I am passionate about trees and flowers for their variety of changing tones and the joy and serenity they convey to me.

I worked with acrylic, oil and with various textures.

Lately I've been working with collage and acrylic based on abstract backgrounds, which destructure me starting from spots, thus creating somewhat surreal and humorous works. In the collage, I use images and photos that, when associated in different ways, give new meaning to the work.

Pride and Support (Traces - 07/2023)

The emotion that I have managed to discover, in myself, is the pride I feel for having been able to focus my mind on something positive, which gave me and still gives me peace and joy, in adverse situations. I learned to focus on other things that I admire and fill me with, like the wonderful succession of tones, shades, tints, and shapes that nature presents. And that is why my heart is more associated with colors than with darkness, and with blossoming and growth, in general. In my works, and also in my clothing, the palette I use is like the one I show in this video, which thus represents a colourful, happy and lively dance. I owe my mother the support she gave me and the words she always repeated to me: "If something has a solution, don't worry, and if it doesn't, why worry?"
